Regarding the potential visit of U.S. President Donald Trump to Istanbul to participate in the talks, Ushakov said he is “occupied with serious matters” in the Middle East. He also noted that Turkish authorities and the Russian consulate are handling the organization of the meeting.

As for the members of the Russian delegation, the Kremlin adviser said “nothing has changed” and their names will be revealed once “the corresponding instructions from President Putin” are issued.

While the Russian president rejected the European proposal for a 30-day truce, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his willingness to travel to the Turkish city to meet with Putin. A meeting between Zelenskyy and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is also scheduled to take place tomorrow.
